Can Ya Dig It ? Man, that Isaac Hayes film soundtrack is really something else ~ I have owned a rare british paperback edition of Ernest ( The French Connection ) Tidymans 'Shaft Has a Ball' novel since the mid seventies.
It was part of a series of stories depicting the adventures of black private investigator John Shaft.

Although ''Shaft'' and ''Shaft in Africa'' were made into blaxploitation movies, this particular 'Super Caper' was not. Anyhow, I had long admired
the great cover art from this pulp paperback and so I decided to re imagine it as a faux poster design advertising the paperback's release.
I re-typed, lifted and used some of the supercool copy from the book and also utilised the worn, battered look as part of the design.
